Last month it was uncovered that OGAT government is developing bots to mitigate OGAT’s population decline. By the end of April an accident occurred in the testing facility and large amount of bots escaped and started terrorising the public.

Soon after the breakout the government enacted a bounty system for terminating the bot menace. Bot hunters - named as Operators by the officials, are rewarded medals for successfully destroying hostile bots. With the acquired medals, the Operators are then able to procure new equipment from the specially designated government armouries.

Unfortunately the government had to start producing medals very quickly and in an extensive capacity and therefore failed to add any security features that would prevent forgeries. OGAT criminal community immediately exploited the deficiencies and started producing counterfeit medals, selling them on the black market. Forgeries virtually cannot be distinguished from the government medals as they look exactly the same.
Officials have been puzzled when Operators started turning up at the armouries with vast amount of medals. Many Operators have been buying them from the black market in hopes of instantly buying top-shelf equipment. “I deny ever buying medals from the black market. They were all earned through hard labour,” said an operator called M. who currently has almost 4000 medals, while the combined government reserves number barely 3000 medals.
The government never expected such rapid acquisition of medals and consequently hasn’t stocked the armouries with enough weapons. Numerous Operators who do not participate in the black market trade are inappropriately equipped and have to carry only basic weapons for hunting bots. It is still unclear when the government will be able to supply them with proper weapons.
