"New Hope" settlement is currently under construction

Ever since the government started construction of a new settlement, OGAT citizens were excited about the prospect of new opportunities. Although the settlement still hasn’t been name, citizens started labelling it as “New Hope”.

However several documents surfaced yesterday showing the purpose of constructing the new settlement is not as transparent as first thought. Documents show that the government is planning to evict the entire population of OGAT from their current housings. All office spaces, mansions, military and police facilities and even the River Village will be completely emptied. Citizens will be either forced to move to the new settlement or leave OGAT entirely.

Many places in the new settlement will be used for advertisement of foreign companies, something that has been illegal under current OGAT law. However OGAT laws do not apply to the new settlement. It will enable the government to sell advertisement spaces for large profits. Even more shocking was the reveal that old OGAT land will be sold to foreign investors. It is speculated that most office complexes, private mansions and government facilities will be torn down by the new investors, who will use the land for extracting precious salt that has been gathering in the OGAT soil.

OGAT government issued a statement today regarding the documents leak. “We assure citizens that better living conditions will be guaranteed in New Hope settlement” said the government spokesperson during the press conference and continued “Our primary goal was to ensure equal job opportunities. Citizens will be able to work any job they prefer without the limitations currently set by the Thieves and Guards unions”. The government also promised a daily subsidy which will be given to what the spokesperson called “hard working citizens”.  Inhabitants of “New Hope” will also be allowed to compile lists of their closest friends and loved ones. So called “Friends Lists” have been forbidden in OGAT since 2019.

Forced relocation will begin on the 2nd of May when the first group of citizens will be moved for testing purposes of new housings.
